Leave any comments, questions, and ideas in the comment section. I’d love to hear from anyone who was not able to make it to the meeting.
What struck me in the presentation was that the ‘State of Play’ was only about organized sports – and I think of play as much broader.
Additionally, the emerging NCAA changes will make collegiate participation even harder in the future (limiting roster sizes, eliminated some sports, etc.).
Is the State of Sport is different than the State of Play for others? And if so, how can we help youth reach the goal of 60 minutes of physical activity a day?
And I just read that beginning in the 2025-26 school year, TPS will be charge $90 for participation in each high school sport and $50 per middle school sport. In previous years a $30 ASB card covered the cost of participating for the entire school year. This is not going to help participation or meeting State of Play goals.
